Research for the textile future – that's the slogan of the Research Institute for Textile Technology Albstadt mbH (FTA) as an industrial institute for fundamental knowledge building. As a part of the Groz-Beckert Group, it makes use of cross-industry expertise and synergies to develop new textile applications. Together with the company of Schmuhl Faserverbundtechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Groz-Beckert has now successfully realized economic optimization in the manufacture of carbon fabric for patient couches in computer tomography.

Let's twist again – the Twisted needle offers increased efficiency through special geometry

The mechanical bonding of nonwoven fabrics with the help of needles has evolved into a popular method for manufacturing across a broad variety of products. These not only compete with conventional textile manufacturing processes but also feature new properties that were previously only achievable using other methods. As needling technology steadily evolves, new and decisive impulses are constantly opening up new and interesting sectors.

The December 2015 edition of the Magazine focused on the importance of pre-needling, and selection of the right needle for this manufacturing step. This article is now devoted to the process that follows: intermediate or finish needling. We present the Twisted needle, which has ideal characteristics for this part of the production process.

A successful DOMOTEX 2016 for Groz-Beckert – trade show organizers report 45,000 visitors from over 100 nations

On January 19, 2016 the DOMOTEX in Hanover ended with one of the best results in its history. The world's most important trade show for carpets and floor coverings sees itself as a driving force for local businesses, trends and innovations, and this role was confirmed long-term in view of the 1,441 exhibitors from 59 countries and 45,000 trade visitors from more than 100 nations who attended the show. Groz-Beckert was also represented at this important event, and, amongst other things, presented its new Cut Pile Looper with LoopControl®.

The right contact partner for each customer – German-speaking customer care is now based in Albstadt

Since May 2015, Groz-Beckert has offered all carding products for the short staple and long staple spinning and the nonwovens industry from a single source: whether metallic wires, flat tops, stationary flats or cleaning fillets. The offer does not end with the products, however – it extends to include all relevant services such as product consulting, assembly service and roller repair, all the way to commissioning. To provide optimal support to customers in German-speaking countries in the future, Groz-Beckert Carding Belgium NV has now transferred this customer care to the Group headquarters in Albstadt (Germany). Ideal Needle Handling – the new quality management for the apparel industry

Today's apparel industry is facing many challenges. In addition to general expectations of the highest possible productivity, a major role is also being played by maximum occupational safety and various environmental aspects. Furthermore, sewing factories are increasingly expected to comply to strict regulations – imposed by brand owners and buying houses – relating to the handling of sewing machine needles.
