Focus on the textile world: from maximum diversity to carbon fibers
January 1, 2015 marked the launch of the Groz-Beckert Group's newly-founded sales subsidiary in Istanbul, Turkey. Groz-Beckert Turkey has operated since the start of the year in the Turkish and Central Asian markets, with products and services from the Knitting, Felting, Tufting and Sewing sectors. The official opening ceremony on Thursday, January 22 was attended by around 80 invited guests.
Eric Schöller, a member of the Groz-Beckert executive board, greeted the guests and, in the speech that followed, went on to explain his motives for opening the new subsidiary: "We decided to open a sales location in Turkey to cater optimally to customers' requirements in the Turkish and Central Asian markets, and also to serve them locally and directly. The textile markets in these regions are traditionally strong, and have continued to gain in importance over recent years."
Following the opening speech, Özkan Edirne, General Manager of Groz-Beckert Turkey, invited the visitors to take a tour of the new site. Edirne gained his many years of textile industry experience in the Turkish textile industry as well as at different Groz-Beckert sites. Among the guests were the employees of Groz-Beckert Turkey, with their families, customers and partners, together with guests from the political world, and journalists.
A few days after the opening of Groz-Beckert Turkey, the company also presented itself to the public outside its own premises. General Manager Özkan Edirne and his team celebrated their trade-show premiere from February 5 to 8 at Texpo Eurasia 2015 in Istanbul. The Groz-Beckert Turkey booth was visited by several hundred customers, all of them not only delighted by the circular knitting machine made of acrylic that was on display. The visitors also had detailed discussions with the consultants.
